An Safari Albannach aig Kitty is a story in Scottish Gaelic which follows Kitty Purry and her cat family on an unusual tour of Scottish animal statues, including the famous ‘Kelpies’, a unicorn and penguins, as she indulges her love of knitting.
Young readers can enjoy references to numbers, colours, clothing, animals and hobbies as they travel around Scotland in the company of not only the Purry family, but also a cheeky, stowaway mouse. Brian Robertson’s brilliant watercolour illustrations will have you laughing out loud, especially when seagulls attempt to steal Kitty’s Dad’s fish supper. And pay attention to the badge on his beret as it changes expression depending on how he is feeling!
