So good to meet in-person so hurrah for the SATEAL Conference 2025
Hurrah for the SATEAL Conference 2025! After four years, SATEAL made the fantastic decision to hold their conference in-person at the University of Edinburgh. Yesterday, organisers and delegates rallied to prove the importance of getting folk together to share stories and ideas.
From a business perspective, nothing beats chatting to teachers face-to-face. We love explaining in detail about new and tried-and-tested products and hearing about the projects teachers are working hard on. In-person conversations go in many different directions. You pick up nuggets of information which would not necessarily be forthcoming online. And you discover the people you are talking to can have multiple roles which encompass a different area of your business from the one you might be specifically promoting that day.
As a small, independent publisher of some quite quirky products, talking directly to customers is essential. This gives the opportunity to fully convey the passion, reason and possibilities behind a product. Prospective buyers may not have time to fully understand your business when glancing at a catalogue or participating in an online event. And let’s not forget the chance to meet other businesses who are also promoting their products – often small, innovative companies keen to get their products to a wider market.
